Baby Step Card using Sugar and Spice

A friend asked me recently to make a card for a baby shower recently.   I knew right away I wanted to make a step card like my dear friend Brenda from Friends Crafting with Friends  made for me when I had my grandson last October.  It was so amazing.  Of course my card was blue  and I made a pink one for a girl so a little different.  All the cuts are from the Imagine cart Sugar and Spice.

Thanks Brenda for a lovely card and for the inspiration to make this card.

Rolodex Things to Remember Calendar

I had seen Rolodex Days to Remember calendars on pinterest and other places.  I had this on my things to do list but never got around to it.  Then recently one of my friends at the LSS where I teach did a class.  I think this is so cute and will come in so handy.  I didn't take pictures of all the pages just a few so you get the idea.  All I had to do after the class was over was add some birthday cards.

My Paper Crafting- Easter cutter challenge

Wow Spring has sprung or not in many cases depending on where you live and it's just a few days away from Easter.
I made this layout for the Easter challenge using the cute little basket from Doodlecharms cut in a chevron pattern paper.  The eggs in the basket are hand cut and the banner, and the rest of the paper is from my LSS which is Reminisce.  The banners and stickers are from the same line.
I hope you will join us this week for the challenge at My Paper Crafting and create something with Easter in mind and your Cricut.  Also check out all the other great posts this week each and every day.
Happy Easter to all!

My new marker storage I can take wherever I go

I am so excited about my new stylish marker storage.
I have room for all my Spectrum Noir Markers and my Copics.  I only have 30 right now but theres still room for more.  LOL  Once you close the latches you can carry this wherever you go and they do not spill.
A couple lovely ladies from the scrapbook store where I work shared this with me.  I have some white shelves I bought to keep my markers in at home but it wasn't working for when I wanted to take them to the scrapbook store or even downstairs to color when watching tv.
This is the largest size suitcase from Michaels.  They have some gorgeous patterns.
They are normally 24.99 and I got this for 40% and then an extra 20% off Sunday.
So it was less than $13
Then I went to Lowe's and bought a sheet of these plastic squares for 12.00.
They are some kind of plastic for lighting so are where the large sheets of plastic are to put in ceilings.  It was easy to cut with pliers.  I double stacked mine.
You actually get enough for two suitcases if you have a friend that wants to make one.
So total $25.00
These are not my markers but I found this picture to show you what the plastic looks like.
My next step is to put pretty tape on my markers for when I am cropping.

BBTB2 Challenge=Use a Card Feature

My dear friend and fellow design team member Brenda has come up with a great challenge for us all this week.  The challenge is to use the card feature from any Cricut Cartridge.  I wanted to make a card with the new paper collection from Graphic 45 French Country.

The card feature is from Art Philosophy page 65.
The sunflower is from Stretch Your Imagination page 37 cut at 2 inches.
The layers are pop dotted, embossed and inked.  I used a MS punch for the leaves.
I cut this panel with the sunflowers to place in the window.
I used the cut out center to form a pull tab under the panel for the sentiment and writing.

I hope you will find a card feature and create a project to link up at BBTB2
We would love to have you join us for the challenge.

Directions for Cascading Card

Last Wednesday I posted a card I found in Cardmaker Spring 2013 Magazine.  I made this card and posted it for the Spring Challenge at My Paper Crafting.  I didn't get the directions up and said I would.  However things have been crazy busy so I found a picture tutorial and a You Tube Tutorial that give awesome directions for this wonderful card.

My card from last week

This is the first card I made.

So excited to show you my Secret Garden Tag Star Album

I am so excited to share this project with you.  I think this will definitely be in my top 10 favorite creations for a long long time.  No I don't have a list written down just in my head but I am thrilled how this project came out.

Well as you have already figured out I love love love Graphic 45.  The new collection A Secret Garden is one of my favorites.  This paper is really popular at the LSS where I teach too.  Everyone loves it!
I love looking at the  Graphic 45 Blog as there are the most amazing artist from around the world and wow what they do with Graphic 45 is stunning.
So recently I saw a post with a
Tag Star Book by Sharon Ngoo.  I knew right away I wanted to try this amazing book and that A Secret Garden would be perfect for this.
The change I made was instead of using the smaller Graphic 45 Tags I used the Larger ones.
I taught this class yesterday and the ladies loved it and were so happy with their completed books.

Here is the book closed.
The seam bind ribbon is colored with ink and we tied a lock and key on it also from G45.
The Secret Garden title background was cut with Elegant Edges

Book open

The way the pages are cut and glued they form a double frame for each window.
We used Chipboard package 1
Added some twine and Stickles here and  there.
Here we punched leaves and cut out flowers with the Cricut.
This is my favorite page with the door on the right.
I found some little wood birds at Michaels we added to each corner and we punched a leaf edge with a MS punch I had that matched leaves in backgreound.
Edges done with another MS punch and scraps
This is the back.

Hope you enjoyed my project and that you will check out the Graphic 45 Blog or following them on Facebook.

Digi Desserts Fridaze at My Paper Crafting

It is time for another Digi Desserts Fridaze and in honor of Easter I made a standup Easter card for my granddaughters using two PCW files.
I used a Easter egg doily from the Dollar Tree, ribbon and rick rack from my stash and some little sticky glitter egg embellishments.  The paper was from Joann's last year.
The digis are colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers and pop dotted to make them stand out.

My Paper Crafting Craft with Cutters Spring Challenge

It's Spring and hopefully if not now you will all soon be enjoying some Spring weather.
I created this card from some directions I found in a card magazine.  I fell in love with it right away.
I cut the flowers from the Cricut cart Picturesque at 2" and 1 3/4 ".

I am so sorry to not include the directions for this card today but I will hopefully get them up in the next week on my blog.  I had a crazy busy weekend and then today instead of 2 grandkids I watched 3 and didn't get my directions written.  Stay tuned for directions to this fun card.
I hope you will link up with us this week.
Happy Craftin!

Prima Divine double layout

Today I am teaching a class at the Scrapbook store where I work Scrapbook Blessings in Newbury Park, California.  For this class the students are making a double page layout, two cards and a tag using the new Prima line Divine.  I fell in love with this paper when I saw it at CHA and couldn't wait to design with it.
I cut a shape using Elegant Edges for this page and then used the outer frame leftovers for second page.

Prima flowers
The seam binding, textured ribbon, and chipboard rose are all colored with chalk inks or Distress ink.

Digi Desserts Fridaze at My Paper Crafting

This is my digital project using Cutie Patootie Rudie from PCW
I made 5 inch twisted easel card and used stamps and flowers from my stash.
I colored my image with Spectrum Noir markers and punched the frame
with a MS Around the page punch set.

We would like to invite some of you to be our Guest Designers here at DDF.
Here's how it will work:
Each week the Design Team members will select one project from those that have been linked up and invite that designer to be our Guest Designer for a future post.
****To be selected as a guest designer, your Link-up project MUST USE a DIGITAL IMAGE from Paper Crafting World.****
Not only will you be invited to join us, you'll also receive a free image from PCW to use for your Guest Designer project.
We are so excited to add this new idea to our Digi Desserts Fridaze and hope you'll play along with us.  Melin will continue to provide a free digital image each week so, of course, you're welcome to use it for your Link-up project.
BUT WAIT!
We are still inviting all of you to link up your projects using any digi image.  We will continue to use Random.org to select one entry to also receive a free digital image from PCW.
Since this winner is selected randomly from all of the entries, we are asking that you limit your number of entries.  If you use a PCW image, you automatically get entered twice. If your first entry does not use a PCW image and you'd like to enter another project, we ask that you use a PCW image on the second entry.
The winner of last week's Link-Up party will be announced at the end of this post along with a link to this week's FREEdigi.

Now it's your turn to play along this week.
Just create something using a digital image and link to this post. If you use an image from PCW, you will receive 2 chances to win. If you use a PCW file, please add "PCW" after your name.

Remember, it's easy to participate in our Link Up because there's a tab on the home page that will bring you directly to this DDF page whenever you're ready to share your project.
Link Up your digital design for a chance to win a free single image from Paper Crafting World.

Here are a few guidelines:
*Must use a digital stamp image (receive 2 entries if you use a PCW image)
*Only one non-PCW entry per person - your second entry (if you choose to enter more than once)   must use an image from Paper Crafting World.
*Must be a NEW project for this Link Up; no backdated posts, please.
*Must have a link back to this post on your blog.
*Must link your project through Inlinkz and not just your blog.
Happy Craftin!
